Technical Studies for Donlin Gold Supported U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) EIS.

RedFISH provided planning and environmental consulting services in support of the USACE Donlin Gold Project EIS. Managed and/or provided technical expertise and oversight for a wide range aquatic resource technical studies within the extensive project area. For example, services provided by RedFISH for a juvenile salmon investigation included planning, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and client. RedFISH performed biological sampling and physical habitat surveys at 250 sites along a Kuskokwim River section extending over 240 river miles. RedFISH provided technical expertise in aquatic ecology and large-scale field assessments and inventories. For this collaborative effort, RedFISH was responsible for the review of existing literature and data, study plan preparation, development of standard operating procedures for field work and data management, training field biologists, coordination with client and other contractors, leading field data collection efforts, and providing technical expertise for data analysis and reporting. RedFISH provided a reliable and responsive team with expertise in biology, fisheries, aquatic ecology, river/stream ecology, geomorphology, and GIS; experience with logistics required to complete complex projects in remote locations on time and on budget; and experience designing and implementing logistically and scientifically rigorous projects in a short timeframe, without compromising staff health and safety or the quality of the data collected.
